The Final Capri model ending 18 years of production was Ford Motor Co farewell to a car that sold near 2 million models.
Originally intended to be 500 cars called Capri 500 plans were changed and it became the Capri 280 of which 1038 were produced at the Niehl factory in Koln, Germany on December 18/19 1986.
The 280 has the largest survival percentage of the various models of the Capri, we believe approximately half of the 280‘s produced still exist.
It is arguably the most sought after model of Capri today with pristine cars selling for in excess of £50,000.
